If you’ve spent any time behind a camera you’ll have found a situation where you wanted some extra support. Low light, long shutter speed – you need a tripod.
The problem with tripods is they’re a pain to lug around so Trek Tech decided to build one into a hiking staff.
That’s not such a silly idea – hiking staffs are useful accessories if you go walking for any distance, especially over rough terrain. Given that you’ve already got a sturdy pole anyway, why not make it a camera support?
The TrekPod Go does exactly that. It’s a walking pole, monopod and tripod all in the one device. It can be packed small enough to fit in airline carry on luggage and is strong enough to take the weight of an SLR camera.
A magnetic quick-fit system means it converts from walking staff to camera support in no time and it weighs less than a kilo.
It costs £150 from Amazon – which isn’t cheap, but considering you get 3 devices in one it’s not bad value.
