ACS Custom ear moulds take in ear headphones to the next level
by Marc in A/V, Mobile tech
I’ve been looking around at headphones lately and stumbled across ACS. They’re an audio company catering for professional musicians, which is why they sell custom in ear monitors for £650.
Now even for a self-confessed audio nut that’s a lot to spend on a pair of headphones but luckily you can have the same fully customised sleeves fitted to your existing in-ear headphones for a lot less.
£88 buys you a voucher to take to your local audiologist where they’ll pour gunk in your ears to take impressions. Your customised sleeves will then be created from that mould.
Tell ACS what headphones you have (Etymotic, Shure and Ultimate Ears are supported, amongst others) and they’ll craft the sleeves to replace the standard bits of foam you’ve grown used to.
Obviously if/when you upgrade the headphones you can take your sleeves with you – after all, they won’t be much use to anybody else!
